Privacy notice

Your privacy

This notice explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what your rights are. We've kept it as short and plain as we can.

Last updated: October 2026

Who we are

Any Weather is a wedding and elopement photography business run by Áine and Paul, based in Glasgow. We decide how your personal information is used, which makes us the “data controller” under UK data protection law.

If you have any questions about this notice or your information, email us at hello@anyweather.co.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through our contact form or by email, we collect:

  • your names and email address
  • details about your plans: whether it's a wedding or elopement, roughly how many guests, the date and location
  • anything you choose to tell us in your message, and how you found us

If you book with us, we'll also collect what we need to provide our service, such as your phone number, postal address, the details of your day, and payment records.

On the day, we take photographs of you, your guests and anyone else at your wedding or elopement.

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site running securely. We don't use cookies or tracking tools.

Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and talk to you about your plans. We do this because you've asked us to, before entering a contract.
  • To provide our photography service if you book with us: planning your day, taking and editing your photographs, and delivering your gallery. We need to do this to fulfil our contract with you.
  • To keep business and tax records, which the law requires.
  • To show our work. We'd love to share some of your photographs on our website and Instagram, but we'll only do this with your permission, and you can change your mind at any time.

We will never sell your information or use it to send you marketing you haven't asked for.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with services that help us run our business, and only as much as they need:

  • Netlify, which hosts this website and receives our contact form submissions
  • Apple iCloud, which provides our email
  • Google Fonts, which supplies the fonts on this website and receives your IP address when the page loads
  • the online gallery service we use to deliver your photographs, if you book with us

Some of these companies are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your information is transferred abroad, they use legally recognised safeguards to protect it.

We may also share information if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to a booking: we delete them within 12 months.
  • Contracts, invoices and payment records: we keep these for six years, as required for tax purposes.
  • Your photographs: we keep a backup after delivering your gallery so we can help if you lose your copies. Just ask and we'll delete it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct anything that's wrong
  • ask us to delete your information
  • object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
  • withdraw your permission for us to share your photographs, at any time

To do any of these, email hello@anyweather.co. We'll respond within one month.

Making a complaint

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first and we'll do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
